Delaware Population

With its nickname, "The First State," Delaware is the second smallest state after Rhode Island. Delaware has witnessed phenomenal growth of 6.4 per cent over the past few years which is a healthy sign for Delaware real estate. Wilmington is Delaware’s largest city and economic hub and the capital city of Dover is also experiencing major growth. Other cities with high per capita income include Greenville, Henlopen Acres, South Bethany, Dewey Beach, Fenwick Island, Bethany Beach, Hockessin, North Star, Rehoboth Beach and Ardentown.

Delaware Economy

Delaware has a strong agricultural base of dairy products, corn, soybeans, poultry and nursery stock. Industrial products include processed foods, rubber and plastic products, scientific instruments, printing and publishing, and chemical products. Residents find employment in government, education, banking, pharmaceutical, automotive manufacturing and agricultural companies. One of the major employers for the state is Dover Air Force Base, one of the largest air force bases in the country.

Delaware Tourism and Recreation

Because of its diminutive size, Delaware has no official historic sites but is rich with culture and history and promises something of interest for everyone. Some of the most popular venues include botanical gardens, parks, lighthouses, the Winterthur Museum, Gardens and Library, the Old State House in Dover, the Air Mobility Command Museum, the Brandywine River Museum, Cape Henlopen State Park, the Delaware Agricultural Museum and Village and Constitution Park in Dover. Outdoor sports abound in Delaware’s parks, campgrounds, river areas and forests. Delaware is the perfect spot for fishing, camping, hiking, boating, horse-riding, golfing and much more.

Delaware is small but the views and the traditions are grand. If you’re looking for great quality of life in a place steeped in history but with an eye to the future, then you should consider buying Delaware real estate.
