Hawaii Population

The beautiful Aloha State has seen a 5.3 per cent increase in population over the last few years. This is a good indicator for Hawaii real estate especially in the larger cities such as Honolulu, the state capital located on the island of Oahu. Other growing cities include Hilo, Kahului, Kailua-Kona, Kaneohe, Kailua, Lihue, Pearl City and Waipahu. The Hawaiian island of Oahu is the most densely populated of the eight main islands which include Hawaii (the island, not the state), Kauai, Kahoolawe, Lanai, Maui, Molokai, Niihau and Oahu.

Hawaii Economy

Agricultural exports continue to be big business for the state of Hawaii which produces pineapple, macadamia nuts, sugarcane, livestock and nursery stock. Hawaii does have some industry and the exports include food processing, fabricated metal products, stone, clay and glass products and apparel. Tourism continues to reign supreme in Hawaii’s economy as visitors flock to this beautiful state each year.

Natural beauty and splendid scenery is the perfect backdrop for anyone wishing to spend some time in this magnificent state. If you like city life, be sure to visit Oahu, the most populated of the Hawaiian Islands. Oahu is also home to the famous Waikiki Beach, the surfing capital of the world. Those preferring a more relaxed visit any of the other islands to drink in the sunshine, sample pineapple and sightsee. The natural wonders of the Islands include Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii, Waimea Canyon on Kauai, the USS Arizona and USS Missouri memorials at Pearl Harbor and countless waterfalls and rainforests. Hawaii’s spectacular weather and gorgeous scenery lends itself to perfect golfing which is one of the state’s biggest sporting activities.
