Indiana Tourism and Recreation
Indiana has a proud sporting heritage particularly in basketball and auto racing. The first high school basketball game was played in Indiana and the sport has taken on a statewide zeal at all levels of play. Auto racing fans flock each Memorial Day to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to watch the annual Indianapolis 500 race. The state is also home to professional athletic teams including the Indianapolis Colts NFL football team and the Indiana Pacers NBA basketball team.
