Ohio Population

The state of Ohio has witnessed a 4.7 per cent increase in population over the last few years. This is positive news for those interested in buying Ohio real estate in either metropolitan or rural areas. Much of Ohio is still rural area but there are significant metropolitan areas as well including Cleveland, Columbus, the state capital, Cincinnati, Toledo, Akron, Dayton, Parma, Youngstown, Canton and Lorain.

Ohio Economy

Ohio has a mix of agricultural and industrial products to contribute to its economy. Industries include automotive plants such as Honda, Ford, General Motors and Jeep. With its proud history of airplane invention, Ohio’s Wright-Patterson Air Force Base continues flight experiments and design innovations. Several Fortune 500 companies are headquartered in Ohio including Cardinal Health, Procter & Gamble, Kroger, Federated Department Stores, Nationwide, Goodyear Tire and Rubber, NCR, Wendy’s International, Abercrombie & Fitch, Diebold, J.M. Smucker and American Greetings. Ohio agricultural products include corn, soybeans, poultry, hogs, cattle and dairy products.

Ohio Tourism and Recreation

Ohio offers a nice balance of outdoor activities, historical events, cultural venues and tons of family fun. Hiking, swimming, boating, fishing and camping are available at the many state parks which dot the state. Ohio’s strong history of flight comes to life at the NASA Glenn Research Center, The Neil Armstrong Museum, the U.S. Air Force Museum and at the annual Vectren Dayton Air Show and Cleveland National Air Show. Historic sites in Ohio include the SunWatch Indian Village/Archaeological Park, Schoenbrunn Interpretive site and the Underground Railway Freedom Center. Professional sports are well represented in Ohio by the Cincinnati Reds, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cleveland Browns, The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Columbus Blue Jackets
