Buying Wisconsin Real Estate

If considering a move to Wisconsin, you should take some time to review the following information on demographics, crime statistics, population, schools, and other important facts about Wisconsin real estate.

Wisconsin Population

The population of Wisconsin has increased a healthy 3.6 per cent over the past few years. Nearly half of Wisconsin is covered by forest which means many options, both rural and urban, for those considering buying Wisconsin real estate. The largest cities in Wisconsin include Madison, the capital, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Kenosha, Racine, Appleton, Waukesha, Oshkosh, Eau Claire and West Allis.

Wisconsin Economy

Wisconsin is a highly agricultural state and is second only to California in dairy production. Other important agricultural products include cranberries, vegetables, corn, hogs, cattle, maple syrup and cherries. Wisconsin also has a strong healthcare and manufacturing base with some Fortune 500 companies headquartered in Wisconsin including Johnson Controls, Northwestern Mutual, Manpower, Kohl’s, American Family Insurance Group, Harley-Davidson, Rockwell Automation and Oshkosh Truck. Wisconsin, especially Milwaukee, is famous for beer production especially some of the most popular national brands: Schlitz, Blatz and Pabst. Tourism is also an important sector adding to Wisconsin’s annual revenue.

Wisconsin Tourism and Recreation

Wisconsin is definitely an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. In addition to hiking, camping, fishing, swimming and boating, Wisconsin has several designated park areas including the famous Wisconsin Dells, the designated "Water Park Capital of the World." Visitors can also walk in the footsteps of Wisconsin history by visiting historical sites and venues including the Laura Ingalls Wilder Cabin, the National Railroad Museum, the Pabst Mansion and Taliesin, the estate of famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Professional sports are also well represented by the Green Bay Packers National Football League team, the Milwaukee Brewers Major League Baseball team and the Milwaukee Bucks National Basketball Association team.

When Wisconsin’s state slogan urges you to "Stay Just a Little Bit Longer," those considering buying Wisconsin real estate will find plenty of reasons to do just that.
