Vermont Economy

Vermont is primarily an agricultural state with many products harvested from existing forests. Vermont’s exported products include apples, maple syrup and dairy products. Two Fortune 500 companies, IBM and National Life Group, both operate in Vermont. Because of its natural rock formations, Vermont produces significant amounts of granite, marble and slate products. The tourism industry adds a significant revenue stream to Vermont’s economy each year.

Vermont Tourism and Recreation

The autumn and winter seasons are especially appealing in Vermont where the mountains offer skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling as well as awe-inspiring fall foliage trips. Notable ski resorts include Sugarbush, Killington Ski Resort, Stowe and Jay Peak. In the warmer months Vermont’s over 50 state parks offer spectacular scenery as well as opportunities for hiking, boating, camping, fishing, swimming, biking, and much more. As you wander around the state, be sure to stop to pick some apples, sample the Vermont cheddar cheese and take home enough maple syrup to last until your next visit.

If getting back to nature is on your list of things to do, then you should definitely consider buying Vermont real estate.
