Noxon

Noxon is located just over a one-lane bridge near the Noxon Rapids Dam. The Cabinet Gorge Reservoir of the Clark Fork River meanders the length of this small Montana town.

The reservior offers about 8 miles of recreation for boaters, fishers and swimmers.

Nestled between the Bitteroot Mountain and Cabinet Mountain Ranges, the National Forest surrounds the small strip of private property which comprises the town.

Fishing on the Bull and Kootenai Rivers

Both the Bull and Kootenai rivers are great trout fisheries. The Bull river is a smaller mountain stream about 60 feet wide, 4 to 6 feet deep and meanders slowly. About a half mile down stream the Bull turns into a shallower and rockier mountain stream.  

There are Rainbow, Cutthroat, Brookies, Bull and German Brown Trout and Rocky Mountain Whitefish. The Bull trout is protected by the endangered species program and is a mandatory release.
