Despite the somewhat busy feel, there are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Brentwood. It is easy to reach green spaces from the majority of locations in the neighborhood since there are about 10 of them nearby for residents to relax in. This area remains relatively quiet, as there are few people out and about on the streets, although there can be higher levels of noise for those who are near Interstate 95 or one of the railway lines.

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing many of the dwellings in Brentwood, and the rest of the houses are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings. A majority of the housing growth in this neighborhood occurred before the 1960s. This area has a variety of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Parking is easy, and most real estate listings are a short drive from the closest highway, such as Interstate 95.
