Broadmoor is a fairly good neighborhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere. This area is quiet overall, as the streets are generally quite tranquil. Lastly, there are a few public green spaces close by for residents to relax in and they are very well-spread out, making it easy to access them from the majority of locations in the neighborhood.

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing roughly 45% of buildings in Broadmoor, while duplexes and townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. This part of New Orleans has quite a good choice of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. The population residing in this neighborhood is evenly split between renters and owners. Most homes in this neighborhood were constructed before the 1960s, during its biggest housing boom.

A general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short walk away in Broadmoor. Moreover, there is typically a restaurant or cafe in close proximity. Home buyers can find a good number of clothing stores within walking distance. With respect to education, in Broadmoor, locals will generally be able to access both primary and secondary schools on foot.

This area is a very pleasant part of New Orleans for pedestrians; most daily needs are very easy to meet without having to resort to a vehicle, and many businesses are nearby. Broadmoor is car friendly. It is convenient to find a place to park, and many homes for sale are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway. In contrast, the public transit network in Broadmoor is not particularly practical. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighborhood, and the closest bus stop is typically just around the corner.
