The neighborhood of Camelback East is situated in the city of Phoenix, Arizona.

The character of Camelback East is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. It is easy to reach parks from the majority of locations in the neighborhood and there are around 20 of them nearby for residents to discover. Most areas in this part of the city are reasonably quiet, as the streets are quite peaceful - although that is not the case close to the railway line, Red Mountain Freeway or Piestewa Freeway.

In Camelback East, roughly 45% of the dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings. This neighborhood also has a good selection of unit sizes - it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. The proportions of renters and home owners are about even. About one third of homes in this neighborhood were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.

It is a reasonably short walk to get to both primary and secondary schools from most homes for sale in Camelback East. Along with public schools, there are private elementary and high schools. In terms of food, the nearest supermarket in Camelback East is typically only a rather short walk away. Furthermore, Camelback East is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat, for instance along McDowell Road, and a limited selection of cafes is available as well.

Many of the homes for sale in this area are located in places that are reasonably well-suited for walking; meeting daily needs is convenient on foot. A car is a very good means of transportation in this area. It is straightforward to find a place to park, and nearby highways, such as Piestewa Freeway, are reasonably easy to access from any home in this part of Phoenix. On the other hand, the public transit service in Camelback East is not very frequent. Nonetheless, commuters are served by the 44th St/Washington Station on the Valley Metro Rail. The neighborhood is connected by approximately 10 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually just around the corner.
