This part of Indianapolis is reasonably quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamor - although there are still several noisier sections, especially near the railway line. Finally, parks are easy to access since there are a few of them nearby for residents to relax in.

The substantial percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of Canterbury is an important part of its character. This neighborhood has quite a good selection of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
