Chickasaw, Louisville

Chickasaw is a neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky.

Chickasaw offers a relaxed environment and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time in green spaces. This neighborhood is reasonably quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - however some areas can be quite noisy, especially closer to one of the railway lines. Finally, most locations in the neighborhood have good access to green spaces, such as Miles Park and Algonquin Parkway, since there are a few of them close by for residents to explore and most properties have a park that is easy to access.

The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of Chickasaw is an important part of its character. This neighborhood has a selection of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. There are equal parts renters and owners living in this part of the city. Most housing in this area was built before the 1960s, during its latest housing boom.

Residents will welcome that wherever their home is located in Chickasaw, primary schools are nearby. On the other hand, Chickasaw does not contain any high schools. In terms of eating, it is very easy to reach the closest grocery store by walking from most homes for sale in this part of the city. There are also a few restaurants in Chickasaw.

Chickasaw is especially car friendly. It is very easy to park, and many houses for sale are a short car ride from the closest highway, such as Interstate 264. However, getting around by transit can be difficult in Chickasaw as a result of the low service level. Thankfully, the neighborhood is connected by a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. Traveling on foot is not particularly practical for residents in Chickasaw as few daily errands can be run without needing to resort to a vehicle.
