Core City, Detroit

The neighborhood of Core City is part of the city of Detroit, Michigan.

Thanks to the presence of few people out and about on the streets, Core City is relatively quiet, although noise levels are higher closer to one of the railway lines, Jeffries Freeway or Edsel Ford Freeway. It is occasionally hard to access green spaces since they aren't well-spread out. Still, there are a few parks nearby for residents to visit.

In Core City, around 40% of buildings are single detached homes, while large apartment buildings are the main alternative in the housing stock. This part of Detroit is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Renters occupy around two thirds of the properties in the neighborhood whereas the remainder are occupied by owners. Most of the housing growth in this neighborhood occurred before the 1960s.

A grocery store is typically accessible within a short walk from most homes for sale in this neighborhood. Likewise, those who like to eat in restaurants will have a fair number of opportunities, and a small selection of coffee shops is available as well. With regards to education, locals will welcome the proximity to both primary and secondary schools, which are within walking distance from the majority of properties for sale in Core City.

Getting around by car is very convenient in Core City. Many homes for sale are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Jeffries Freeway, and finding a place to park is generally easy. However, getting around by transit can be difficult in this area as a result of the low service level. Nevertheless, residents have access to a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Core City, even though meeting daily needs is easy.
