Dallas North Estates is a reasonably good neighborhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere. There is a small amount of greenery in this part of the city; to be more specific, residents will find that the tree canopy coverage for most streets is sub-par. However, there are a few public green spaces close by for residents to relax in, like Overland Trail Park, and they are especially well-spread out, resulting in them being easy to reach from the majority of locations in the neighborhood. Most areas in this part of the city are quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic.

The predominant housing types in Dallas North Estates are single detached homes and townhouses. There is a higher proportion of three bedroom homes in this area. Roughly 90% of the dwellings in the neighborhood are occupied by home owners while the remainder are rented. Most of the housing growth in this area took place in the 1960s and 1970s.

It is a short walk to get to primary as well as high schools from most homes for sale in this part of Plano. At the elementary level, both public and private schools can be found. When it comes to food, it is occasionally feasible for house buyers in Dallas North Estates to travel to the nearest grocery store on foot. Conversely, a restaurant is commonly just around the corner.
