Surrounded by mountains and gorgeous landscapes, Denver is a dream city for the nature lover.
It's a young city with a median age of 34, and a little over half of the residents are homeowners. Buying on the west side of Denver will set you back a pretty penny, while the east side is a bit more affordable, but farther from the mountains. If skiing and hiking are priorities, central or west side of town are the spots for you. Some desirable neighborhoods include Highlands, LoDo, LoHi, Broadway and Edgewater. The median home price in Denver is $385,000.
Young people flock to the city as Denver is chock-full of breweries, restaurants and bars. Tennyson Street, for example, is a long string of restaurants and shops. RINO (River North) is a hip neighborhood that has been on the up-and-up for the past five years or so.
Beer has become a big part of the culture in Denver; the city is home to dozens of breweries and holds beer events all year round. Marijuana is also part of the Denver scene as dispensaries and recreational and medicinal marijuana stores have popped up in recent years.
But the biggest thing to do in Denver is to go out and be active. The city is located less than two hours from the popular ski resorts of Breckenridge, Winter Park and Keystone. In warmer weather you can take trips over to Red Rocks Park, which is home to the well-known Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Rocky Mountain National Park and many other natural wonders.
