There is a fairly good selection of green spaces in East Columbus. It is easy to get to parks from most locations within the neighborhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to discover. Lastly, this part of the city is relatively serene, as there are very few people out and about on the streets.
Renters occupy around 60% of the properties in the neighborhood whereas owners occupy the remainder. In this part of the city, most of the dwellings are single detached homes, while large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and mobile homes are also present in the housing stock. Roughly 45% of homes in this area were constructed pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s. This neighborhood offers mainly three bedroom and two bedroom homes.
The nearest supermarket in East Columbus is generally only a short walk away. A small selection of restaurants and cafes can be found as well. With respect to education, it is a reasonably short walk to get to primary schools from anywhere in this part of Columbus. In contrast, there are no high schools in East Columbus.
This neighborhood is especially car friendly. The majority of houses for sale are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Northeast Freeway, and it is very convenient to come across a place to park. In contrast, commuting by public transit is difficult in this part of Columbus. Nevertheless, the neighborhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is straightforward to find a nearby bus stop from most homes. It is impractical for people walking to get around in East Columbus as many daily needs are occasionally challenging to meet without having to resort to a car.
