This part of the city is reasonably good for those who need quiet areas, as the streets are generally peaceful - although that is not the case close to Interstate 225 or US Highway 87. Finally, there are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to discover, like Southmoor Park and Wallace Park, and they are very well-spread out, making it easy to get to them.

Over half of the housing stock of Hampden South is composed of single detached homes and large apartment buildings, while the rest are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses.
