Harwood Lane is very good for those who prefer quiet surroundings, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamor. Parks are distributed sparsely, making them rather challenging to get to. Still, residents will be able to access parks in nearby neighborhoods.

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing the vast majority of buildings in Harwood Lane, whereas the remainder are mainly townhouses. This part of Charlotte is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 85% of the units in the neighborhood are occupied by home owners whereas the rest are rented.
