Lake Forest, Jacksonville

Lake Forest is a neighborhood within Jacksonville, Florida.

The character of Lake Forest is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. This part of the city is quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case near Interstate 95. Finally, there are a few green spaces nearby for residents to relax in and they are especially well-situated, making them easy to reach from the majority of locations in the neighborhood.

Lake Forest experienced its latest housing boom pre-1960, so most of the available housing is from this era. The housing stock of this neighborhood is composed predominantly of single detached homes and townhouses. Home owners occupy about two thirds of the properties in Lake Forest while the rest are rented. There is a higher proportion of three bedroom homes in this part of Jacksonville.

The closest grocery store in Lake Forest is typically only a rather short walk away. Residents benefit from a few restaurants and coffee shops as well. When it comes to education, primary schools are easy to access on foot from any location in this part of the city. On the other hand, Lake Forest does not have any high schools.

Lake Forest is especially car friendly. The majority of real estate listings are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Interstate 95, and it is very convenient to come across a parking spot. In contrast, Lake Forest is not an especially pleasant part of Jacksonville for moving around by public transit. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighborhood, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of this part of the city, despite the fact that many daily needs are easy to carry out by walking.
