Lake Houston is especially quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. It is rather difficult to access public green spaces in the neighborhood since they are spread out sparsely. Despite that, there are a few green spaces close by for residents to explore.
In Lake Houston, about 80% of the dwellings are single detached homes, while mobile homes are also present in the housing stock. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Around 85% of the dwellings in the neighborhood are occupied by home owners whereas the remainder are rented. This neighborhood experienced its biggest housing boom since the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this era.
In most, if not all, cases, a car is needed in Lake Houston to access the closest grocery store. There are also a few choices for those who care about close by restaurants. In terms of education, high schools and primary schools are not plentiful in Lake Houston, and thus not always within walking distance. Locals are served by public and private elementary schools.
This area is an extraordinarily convenient part of Houston for traveling by car. Accessing a parking spot is generally easy. However, Lake Houston is not very convenient for traveling on foot as meeting daily needs is very impractical.
