Little Calumet River offers an extensive selection of green spaces to enjoy. There are a few public green spaces close by for residents to unwind in, like Beaubien Woods Forest Preserve, which results in them being easy to reach from the majority of locations in the neighborhood. Lastly, this area remains relatively serene, due to the presence of very few people out and about on the streets.
Townhouses are the predominant housing type, representing roughly one third of buildings in Little Calumet River, whereas the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings and single detached homes. In contrast, the public transit system in Little Calumet River is fairly poor. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines. This area is not very convenient for traveling on foot because running common errands is challenging by walking.
