Los Feliz, Los Angeles

Los Feliz is a neighborhood in Los Angeles, California.

Home buyers who prefer a slower-paced environment will enjoy Los Feliz. This neighborhood is reasonably quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamor - although that is not the case around Golden State Freeway. Finally, there are a few parks close by for residents to enjoy, like Griffith Park and Vermont Parkway, which results in them being very easy to get to from the majority of locations in this area.

In Los Feliz, roughly one third of the dwellings are large apartment buildings, while small apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This part of the city has a variety of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About two thirds of the population of this neighborhood rent their home whereas the remainder are owners. The properties in this area are very old, since around 60% of its dwellings were constructed before the 1960s, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s.

Property owners in Los Feliz will appreciate that a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a rather short walk away. Moreover, there is typically a restaurant or cafe in close proximity, for example on Hillhurst Avenue. A decent variety of clothing stores is also available within a rather short walking distance. As far as education is concerned, both primary and secondary schools are convenient to get to on foot from any location in Los Feliz. Residents are served by public and private schools at both the elementary and secondary school level.

Regardless of the medium of transportation, it is reasonably simple to move around in this part of the city. Active house buyers will enjoy the reasonably walk-friendly nature of this neighborhood; many daily errands can be run on foot, and there are also a good number of businesses close by. This area benefits from a fairly good public transit system. The neighborhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. A car is also a fairly good means of transportation in Los Feliz. It is easy to come across a place to park, and many properties for sale are a rather short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Golden State Freeway.
