Malta is a town located in New York, United States.
Malta is fairly good for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several noisier areas, especially closer to the airport (Round Lake Airport and Seaplane Base) or Adirondack Northway.
Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing about 60% of buildings in Malta, and the rest of the homes are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses. This town has a selection of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Roughly three quarters of the population of this town own their home while the rest are renters. This town did not experience a single housing boom; the construction of new buildings in Malta is spread throughout several decades in recent history.
Walking to primary schools can be very difficult in this town, which does not have any high schools. At the elementary level, both public and private schools can be found. When it comes to eating, accessing the nearest grocery store on foot is an option for some, but not all, house buyers in Malta. A small selection of restaurants and cafes can be found as well.
The car is very often the favored transportation option in Malta. It is especially convenient to come across a parking spot, and the majority of real estate listings are a rather short car ride from the closest highway, such as Adirondack Northway. On the other hand, Malta is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, the town is served by a few bus lines. Malta is not very well-suited for traveling on foot as most daily needs are challenging to meet by walking.
