Mayport, Jacksonville

The neighborhood of Mayport is situated within the city of Jacksonville, Florida.

One of the highlights of Mayport is its wide selection of green spaces. There are a few parks nearby for residents to discover, including Timucuan Preserve, resulting in them being very easy to reach from a large number of locations within this part of the city. Finally, it is relatively quiet in this area, since there are very few people out and about on the streets.

Roughly 40% of properties in Mayport were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 2000s. Townhouses are the most common housing type, representing about one third of the dwellings in this part of the city, while duplexes and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. Around 85% of the population of this neighborhood rent their home and 15% are owners. This area has quite a good variety of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.

There are only a few high schools in this area and therefore they can be a long walk away. Likewise, Mayport does not contain any primary schools. With regards to eating, home buyers in this neighborhood almost always need a vehicle to reach the nearest supermarket. There are also a few opportunities for those who cherish restaurants within walking distance.

This part of the city is very car friendly. It is very convenient to come across a parking spot. However, traveling by public transit is very hard in this neighborhood. Nevertheless, property owners are served by a few bus lines, and it is easy to get to a nearby bus stop from most residences. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of Jacksonville are located in areas that are not very suitable for walking since almost no common errands can be run without the use of a car.
