Mid - City offers a calm atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time in green spaces. This part of Santa Ana is quiet overall, as the streets are generally tranquil. Lastly, although the neighborhood does not contain any public green spaces, parks are very well-spread out in nearby neighborhoods, which makes it easy to get to them.

The substantial percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of Mid - City is an important part of its character. This neighborhood has a good selection of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About two thirds of the population of this neighborhood own their home and one third are renters. Most homes in this part of the city were built pre-1960, during its main housing boom.

It is very easy to reach both a general and a specialty grocery store by walking from any location in Mid - City. The public transit network in this neighborhood is not especially practical. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is generally just around the corner. Mid - City is also not particularly car friendly since the street network is not very amenable to cars, and it is occasionally difficult to park.
