Mill Hill offers an extensive selection of green spaces to enjoy, as well as some areas with a vibrant atmosphere. There are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to check out, including Gwynns Falls Park, making them very easy to get to. This part of Baltimore is a reasonably good area for those who don't mind a bit of noise, as during busy hours, traffic can occasionally be bothersome, although there are still several quieter sections.

Mill Hill experienced its main housing boom prior to the 1960s, so most of the available properties are from this era. In this neighborhood, around three quarters of buildings are townhouses, and the rest of the dwellings are mainly large apartment buildings.
