The neighborhood of Mount Washington is situated within the city of Baltimore, Maryland.

The character of Mount Washington is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. There are a few green spaces nearby for residents to unwind in, such as Western Run Park, and they are very well-situated, which results in them being very easy to get to from most locations in the neighborhood. This part of Baltimore is also quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamor - although there are still several louder areas, especially near Jones Falls Expressway or the railway line.

In Mount Washington, the majority of the dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This part of the city has quite a good variety of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Roughly 85% of the properties in the neighborhood are occupied by home owners whereas renters occupy the remainder. Most of the housing growth in this neighborhood occurred pre-1960.

Primary schools are convenient to walk to from any location in Mount Washington. However, this part of Baltimore does not have any high schools. With regards to food, a vehicle is often required in Mount Washington to reach the nearest supermarket. A small number of restaurants and cafes can be found.

The best method to navigate Mount Washington is usually driving. It is very convenient to park, and most properties for sale are a rather short car ride from the closest highway, such as Jones Falls Expressway. On the other hand, residents using public transit may find limited options in this area as a result of the infrequent service. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most properties. Walking is not very popular in Mount Washington, although many common errands can be run on foot. Despite the fact that a few bike-friendly sectors exist, moving around by bicycle is also sometimes challenging in Mount Washington as there are quite a few hills, and the bicycling infrastructure is somewhat poor.
