Pownal is a town located within Vermont, United States.
Pownal is very good for those who prefer quiet surroundings, as the streets are generally very tranquil. Green spaces aren't well-distributed, resulting in them being very difficult to access from the majority of locations in the town.
The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of Pownal is an important part of its character. Roughly one third of homes in this town were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This town has quite a good variety of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Around 80% of the population of this town own their home while the remainder are renters.
There are only a very small number of high schools and primary schools in this town and therefore they can be a very long walk away. With respect to eating, property owners in Pownal almost always have to turn to a vehicle to travel to the closest supermarket.
Pownal is very car friendly. Parking is easy. On the other hand, Pownal is not a very pleasant town for moving around by public transit. Thankfully, residents have access to a few bus lines. Pownal is not very well-suited for walking as almost no daily needs can be met on foot.
