Route 66 West is especially quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. Parks aren't well-situated, making them occasionally challenging to get to from most locations in the neighborhood. Despite that, there are a few public green spaces close by for residents to explore.

The housing stock of Route 66 West is composed predominantly of single detached homes and townhouses. The properties in this part of Albuquerque are very modern, because about half of its dwellings were constructed between 1990 and 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 2000s.
