Saint Andrews is good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are generally reasonably calm - however some areas can be quite loud, especially closer to Interstate 20 or Interstate 26.
Roughly one third of the dwellings are large apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Saint Andrews, while the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings and single detached homes. Roughly half of the properties in this neighborhood were built between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s. This part of Columbia has quite a good variety of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Roughly two thirds of the population of this neighborhood rent their home and one third are owners.
Some, but not all, home buyers in Saint Andrews will live within walking distance of the closest supermarket. Residents benefit from about 40 restaurants and cafes as well. Concerning education, there are only a limited number of high schools and primary schools in Saint Andrews and thus they can be a long walk away.
A car is a great means of transportation in this part of the city. Coming across a place to park is quite easy, and many houses for sale are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway, such as Interstate 126. On the other hand, this part of the city is not very convenient for walking since carrying out daily needs is occasionally challenging on foot.
