South Park, Houston

The neighborhood of South Park can be found in the city of Houston, Texas.

People who prefer a calm environment will enjoy South Park. It is easy to access green spaces in the neighborhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out. Most areas in this part of Houston are reasonably quiet, as the streets tend to be reasonably calm - however noise can be an issue near the railway line or Interstate 610.

The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of South Park is an important part of its character. This neighborhood experienced its latest housing boom prior to the 1960s, so most of the available housing is from this time period. This part of the city is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. About two thirds of the population of this neighborhood own their home whereas the remainder are renters.

Primary as well as high schools are convenient to reach on foot from most properties for sale in this part of the city. At the secondary level, both public and private schools can be found. As far as eating is concerned, a supermarket is typically reachable within a short walk from most homes for sale in South Park. A limited number of restaurants and cafes are available as well.

The preferred method to get around in South Park is very often a car. Parking is quite easy, and most properties for sale are a rather short drive from the closest highway, such as Interstate 610. However, South Park is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the neighborhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of South Park, despite the fact that many common errands can be run without needing to use a vehicle.
