The neighborhood of South Riverside is situated within the city of Jacksonville, Florida.

South Riverside offers a wide variety of green spaces to enjoy. Reaching public green spaces from a large number of locations within the neighborhood, including River Oaks Park, is easy since there are a few of them nearby for residents to visit. As there are few people out and about on the streets, this part of the city remains relatively quiet; however noise levels are higher closer to the railway line.

The substantial proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of South Riverside is an important part of its character. This neighborhood offers mainly three bedroom and two bedroom homes. The split between home owners and renters is about even. This part of Jacksonville experienced its main housing boom before the 1960s, so most of the available housing stock is from this time period.
