Southeast Como, Minneapolis

The neighborhood of Southeast Como is situated in the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Despite the somewhat busy feel, there are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Southeast Como. It is easy to get to parks in the neighborhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to unwind in. Thanks to the presence of few people out and about on the streets, this part of Minneapolis is relatively quiet, although noise levels are higher closer to Interstate 35 or one of the railway lines.

Renters occupy about three quarters of the dwellings in the neighborhood whereas the remainder are occupied by owners. In this neighborhood, roughly 40% of buildings are single detached homes, and the remaining properties are mainly large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and duplexes. This part of the city experienced its latest housing boom prior to the 1960s, so most of the available housing stock is from this time period. This neighborhood has a variety of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.

Both primary and secondary schools are easy to get to on foot from any location in this part of Minneapolis. Regarding food, a grocery store is usually accessible within a short walk from anywhere in Southeast Como. In addition, there is often a restaurant or cafe just around the corner.

This area offers home buyers several alternative modes of transportation. Southeast Como is reasonably convenient for walking; many common errands can be run on foot. The public transit system in this part of Minneapolis is reasonably good thanks to a few nearby bus lines. Traveling by car is also especially convenient in Southeast Como. It is very convenient to park, and many homes for sale are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Interstate 35.
