St. Roch offers a variety of experiences for home buyers who enjoy a vibrant atmosphere and spending time in green spaces. Although this neighborhood is not known for its vibrancy, with its a few nightlife venues, there are options for nighttime activities. On the other hand, it is easy to access green spaces since there are a few of them close by for residents to explore.

In St. Roch, around 45% of buildings are single detached homes, while duplexes and townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. This part of the city offers mainly three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around 60% of the units in the neighborhood are occupied by renters and 40% are occupied by owners. Most of the housing growth in this part of New Orleans happened prior to the 1960s.

It is very easy to access the nearest grocery store by walking in St. Roch in this neighborhood. Additionally, a restaurant is typically just around the corner, and there are also a few coffee shops in St. Roch. A good selection of clothing stores can also be found within a rather short walking distance. In terms of education, locals will welcome that wherever their home is located in St. Roch, both primary and secondary schools are close by.

This area is quite conducive to walking; many common errands can be run without having to use a vehicle, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. A car is a very good mode of transportation in St. Roch. It is a very short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Interstate 610, from anywhere in this area, and finding a place to park is quite easy. However, St. Roch is not an especially pleasant part of New Orleans for getting around by public transit. Nonetheless, the neighborhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most residences.
