Sumner is a neighborhood within Portland, Oregon.

Thanks to the presence of few people out and about on the streets, Sumner is relatively quiet; however there can be more noise for those who are around the railway line or East Portland Freeway. Green spaces aren't well-spread out, making them occasionally difficult to get to. Despite that, residents will be able to access parks in nearby neighborhoods.

The housing stock of Sumner is composed predominantly of single detached homes and row houses. This neighborhood also has quite a good variety of unit sizes; properties range from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Around 70% of the population of this neighborhood own their home whereas the remainder are renters. This neighborhood experienced its latest housing boom before the 1960s, so most of the available homes are from this time period.

It is very easy to get to the closest supermarket by walking in Sumner in this part of Portland. Additionally, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and a small selection of cafes can be found as well. Regarding education, secondary schools are convenient to reach on foot from most homes for sale in Sumner. However, there are no primary schools in this area.

Driving is usually the best method to navigate Sumner. The majority of homes for sale are a very short car ride from the closest highway, such as Portland Freeway, and it is very convenient to park. On the other hand, the public transit service in this area is not especially frequent. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighborhood, and bus stops are not very far from most houses. Walking is not very popular in Sumner, despite the fact that many daily errands can be run without the use of a car.
