Western Branch North, Chesapeake

The neighborhood of Western Branch North is located within the city of Chesapeake, Virginia, which is located in the Virginia Beach metropolitan area.

Western Branch North is fairly good for those who prefer a quiet atmosphere, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamor - although that is not the case closer to Interstate 664 or the railway line. Parks aren't well-distributed, making it rather difficult to get to them. Still, there are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to enjoy, like Dunedin Park.

Around 70% of the properties in the neighborhood are occupied by home owners while the rest are rented. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing around 60% of the dwellings in this part of Chesapeake, and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. The average year of construction for buildings in this area is 1985. This area has quite a good variety of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.

Some house buyers in this area may be able to reach one of around 20 supermarkets on foot, while others will have to turn to another means of transportation. A limited variety of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well. As far as education is concerned, there are only a few high schools and primary schools in this neighborhood and for this reason they can be a rather long walk away.

The best method to get around in this part of Chesapeake is usually driving. It is a rather short drive to the nearest highway, such as Interstate 664, from any location in Western Branch North, and it is very easy to park. On the other hand, getting around by public transit is very hard in this area. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighborhood. Western Branch North is not very suitable for traveling on foot as very few daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.
